NEW YORK – ľֱ’s Aid is pleased to announce that Margot Sigmone has been promoted to Vice President, Early Childhood Division. Margot had been serving as the interim VP of the Division since February, when Moria Cappio was promoted to Chief of Staff.
“Margot has been an exceptional leader in our Early Childhood Division since Day 1,” said ľֱ’s Aid President & CEO Phoebe C. Boyer. “Her enthusiasm for our programs, our families, and our staff is boundless. It’s a perfect fit for her to assume this new role, and I look forward to working with her more closely to ensure incredible success for our young people at this critical age.”
Margot joined ľֱ’s Aid in 2019 as the Early Childhood Division’s Deputy Director of Education. For the past four years, she’s worked in partnership with early childhood staff and staff from across the agency to strengthen the quality of our early childhood programs. She also skillfully and strategically steered the Division through the pandemic.
“It’s an honor to lead this Division,” Margot said. “Early Childhood has been my home at ľֱ’s Aid since I first started, and working with this population is my passion. I’m excited to build on the Division’s already outstanding services, and I look forward to working with our staff and families to make sure that every child who walks through our doors have the supports needed to learn, grow and thrive.”
Margot came to ľֱ’s Aid from the Therapy and Learning Center, where she was the Education Director. She was also the Assistant Clinical Director of ABA Services at Kidz Choice Services Inc. during that time. She has worked in education as a teacher, facilitator, and director since 2001.
Margot has a bachelor’s in psychology from CUNY-York, a master’s in education from Touro University and an advanced degree in studied school building/district leadership from St. John’s.
